[BT TEIBGBAPH. — PBESS ASSOCIATION.} ] DUNEDIN, This Day. The Minister of Customs has intimated to Dunedin warehousemen and retailers, that every consideration will be given to their request in resp2ct to the removal' of the duty on cotton and linen goods in the middle of the drapery season.
There were five Chinese on boaTd the Mahcno, which arrived from Sydney last night; three are for Wellington and one each for Dunedin and Lyttelton. Several additional names have been received from officers intending .to be present at the general instructional course fixed to open in Wellington on Tuesday, 24th September.
