A SCOW'S MISFORTUNES.
FBI TSLESBArH. — PBES3 ASSOCIATION.] AUCKLAND, This Day. The scow Bravo was carried ashore at Pcutaua Ba.y, close to Whangarei, on Monday night. The scow had anchored in a sheltered position, but the anchors dragged, and the vessel was swept, ashore. The crew all landed safely. The scow is said to be on a sandy bfach, and to have suffered no damage. She was bound from Ngunguru to Paerou. The crew is standing by tho vessel, and it is expected she will b& floated without much difficulty. The BTavo was ashore near Cape Maria Van Diemen in January last. She was floated off, and came to Auckland, where she was i-*r ired. She. is owned by a local syndicate. The master's telegram to tno local agents (tho Northern Coal Company} is as follows : "During an easterly gale th© Bravo dragged her two anchors, »nd carried away her cable. There is a chance of getting her off if the weather moderates, but at present it is impossible to do anything, as the seas aie breaking over the hulL and ringing. Tho members of the crew are all on shore." It has been decided to &rod a- scow to Poulana Bay to take off the Bravo's. cargo of coal. A tugboat will then toir the Bravo elf the beach.
