At the court this morning the magistrate gave his reserved decision in the case Police versus White, a charge of selling liquor. • After reviewing the evidence placed before him, the magistrate delivered the following verdict: — vV I am of the opinion that tho lecker system has been resorted to as a blind or shelter behind which I believe the law would be broken with impunity, and' I convict the defendant of the charge on which he is arraigned, and fine him £50 with costs £6 195." Defendant's solicitor gave notice -of appeal and sureties wero fixed at £70.
