The men are to meet again to-morrow. The prospects of a settlement of the ' dispute are still considered hopeful. STRIKE ON THE RAND. ,TO BE DECLARED OFF, CAPETOWN, 19th July. The executive of the Miners' Association at Johannesburg has decided, by a large majority, to declare the strike off, though announcement of the fact has been postponed. LONDON, 19th July. At the instance of Mr. R. L. Outhwaite, representing tha Rand strikers, the Parliamentary Committee of the British Trades Union Congress has appealed to trades unions to assist 'che miners.
