ANOTHER DUNEDIN PROTEST. [« TELKOBAPK.— riIE3S ASSOCIATION.] DUNEDIN, This Day. Tho Mayor has sent the following telegram to tho Commissioner of Customs: ,"The proposed increajfe of duty on electrical machinery will seriously affect tho city corporation which has ombarked upon a £200,000 hydro-elec-tric scheme. The increased duties will not benefit any manufacturing interests, and are likely to retard the development of this important industry. • I sincerely hope you will see your way to materially modify the proposals. I consider in the ! interests pi< tho colony that electric ! machinery' should bo subject for pre- | ffcrential protection."-
