TREATY QUESTIONS. NEW HEBRIDES AGREEMENT. PBESS ASSOCIATION. LONDON, 19th March. In the House of Commons Mr. Churchill, Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies, replying to a question by Mr. Herbert Pike Pease, Liberal Unionist member for Darlington, regard, ing the Australian Preference Bill, said the whole question of treaty obligations as affecting the colonies was under careful consideration by tho Government, in vjew of a full diacuosiun of the matter at tho forthcoming Imperial Conference, Mr. Churchill has informed the House of Commons that it is not intended to further negotiate with France regarding tho Now Hebrides until after the colonial Premiers have been consulted in tho matter. CONVENTION SUSPENDED. (Received March 20, 9.45 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. It now appears that an arrangement has been mado that tho Anglo-French New Hebrides agreement shall remain in abeyance until tho arrival in England of Mr. Deakin, Federal Proraior. OTTAWA, 19th March. Sir Wilfrid Laurier, Premier, will start for the Imperial Conference or 6th April.
