ST. THOMAS'S FLOWER SHOW.
♦ EIGHTH EXHIBITION. The eighth annual flower show of St. Thomas's parish, /Newt own, iras opened without ceremony yesterday afternoon in the new Sunday school buildings, next to St. Thomas's Church. The commodious nail vras used to advantage in a tnetefu} display of the flowers of the sealon, and, in the opinion of the judges, there wes an excellent exhibition, considering tho scarcity of flowers. Special exhibits of flowers and plants were made by Messrs. H. Poole, W. M. Jackson (gladioli), ■ Evans and Son, Mra. Salmon, and the Bellevue Gordons. Various stalls were under *the direction of Mrs. Leo (pot plants), Miss Read (cut flowers), Mrs. Preston (sweets), Miss Smith (tea-rooms), and Mrs. Macklin (toys). The show was well attended last night, when a musical programme was provided by Mifis Robinsons orchestra. The judging for the show was done by Messrs. It. F. Glen and G. H. Broad, and Misses! Cooper and Coffey. The hon. secretaries are Misses Hales and Jenkins, and Mr. J. W. Silmon is the hon treas.uror. Tho show is to be closed to-night.
