AN EXCELLENT PRESSURE. The extension of the water 6upply to Island Bay by a system of reticulation is approaching completion. This morning the City Engineer and Superintendent Hugo, of the Municipal Brigade, went out on 1 the Fire Brigade motor and 'tested tllo water pressure an a number of tie streets. Various sized nozzles weTe adjusted, and an excellent stream of water was obtained. In some caees the water was thrown a distance of 140 ft. The pressure on a gaugo at the Marine-parade was 1001b to the square inch. This will be even further augmented when the new line of .pipes at present being run through the rcity is finished.
