The competitors include the champions of Australia and of New South Wales, nnd a representative from Argentine. The number of entries is a lecord for Australasia. In tho first round Viner (champion of Australia) beat Ktimmor, B. Mason beat Sexton, Crackenthorpc (champion of New South Walw) beat Forsyth, J. Mason beat James, Edwards beat Greirson; Sainsbury und Gifford drew; Parker beat Cummings; Kelling beat Plcnsants ; Barnes beat Stewart.
