Hutton, pianoforte, 136 marks (teacher, Miss Emily Thompson, Christchurch), and Mire Doris Haywood, harmony, 136 marks (teacher, St. Mary's Convent, Wellington). For the first time this year, the AsGociated Board offers three exhibitions to candidates ia Auetralasitv who, in the opinion of the cxaminors, show exceptional musteal promise. All candidates, without regiird to age, or grade of examination lor which they are entered, are eligible for thes9 exhibitions, and tho fortunate winnora will be given a free course of tuition at the Royal Academy or tho Royal College, hv London, extending over two of three years. Mr. Walton Wesche, this year's examiner, in his report to the board, will recommend the names of two candidates from this colony, who, in his opinion, show exceptional musical promise, and who are in every way fitted to receive theso exhibitions. Tho board's decision on Mr. Wesche's recommendation will be awaited with interest.
