ALLEGED CUSTOMS FRAUDS.
1) ' FORWOOD ARRESTED IN AUCKLAND. [BT TBLEOHAPH.— VMBS ASSOCIATION^ AUCKLAND, 16th October. Frederick William Forwood, who is wanted in connection with the Adelaide Customs frauds, was arrested in Auckland this morning. He admitted his identity, and stated that he had been in Auckland for twelve weeks, and had been "lying low" during that time, changing freely from one boardinghouee to another. PForwood is charged with being concerned with C. Tucker, a member of the South Australian Assembly (now in custody), in defrauding the Customs of upwards of £30,000 by alleged false representations, extending over a long oeries of years.] This Day. Forn-ood was charged to-day with having forged the impression of a seal placed upon a certain invoice, and was remanded pending the arrival of an Adelaide detective.
