A wave tore the wife from her husband's grasp, and she and her children weTe drowned before his eyes. The crew were rescued. s ANOTHER DREDGE OVERDUE. The dredge Octopus, which foundered on the African coast, was, with the dredge Walrus, purchased by -the Geelong Harbour Board from the Natal Government for £8000 each, and an additional £2000 was spent in fitting the Octopus for the voyage to Australia. Grave fears are entertained for the cafoty of the Walrus, which is now three weeks overdue. PIETERMARITZBURG, 16th Oct. Durban reports that grave anxiety is felt owing to the non-reporting of another dredger "for Geelong, which left Durbau on 13th August.
