The noise of the explosion, at Wingate Colliery was heard four miles away. Tho death-roll is stated .at twentyfour. The victims were stonemen and shifters, who were preparing workings for tho hewers. (Received October 17, 8.18 a.m.) LONDON, 16th October. Ninety-three miners were rescued from the Wingate Colliery. The colliery officials declare that the deaths were due to the effects of afterdamp.
