LUCKY SERVANTS.
Lieut.-Colonel John Wallace Hozier, of 1, Heathfield-road, Wandsworth-common, S.W., late commandant 2nd Royal Dragoons (Scots GTeys), and brother of the late Lord Newlands (says the Daily Telegraph) left estate of the gross value of £29,069. He made the following bequests, free of duty, to his servant, Alfred Davis, in consideration of his manyyears' long and faithful service:— Four thousand pounds sterling; all his property in New Zealand; a life annuity of £25; all his clothing, etc, and the gold' watch and chain he usually wore; six months' wages, and board wages ; all his plated (as distinct from silver) articles j a number 1 of silver articles, householdl furniture linen, etc. Testator directed! that if the legatee had predeceased him the bequests to him -were to be for the benefit of any widow or children he may have left. Mrs. Lucy Anne Liscombe, of Cambridge House, Ryde, Isle of Wight), widow of Captain James Liscombe, left estate valued at £16,9 d& gross, with not personality £16,422. She left £1000 and an annuity of £50, certain furniture, her collie dog, and birde and birdcage to her "faithful" housekeeper, Eliza HarwoodMr. Joseph Mason, of The Limes, Gargrave, Yorks, who left estate valued at £V 7,142 gross, with net personality £48,643, gave £200 to his housekeeper, Susannah Roberts.
