Roland MacGowan announces his fifth elocutionary recital for the 26th ..inst., at St. Peter's Schoolroom. Mr. MacGowan, who has already established himself as a firm favourite with local audiences, wil' present on this occasion a programme which will afford ample opportunity for further proving his versatility. A one-^ct comedy, "Sugar and Cream,". wilL also be presented. Mr. MacGowan will be supported by the -Misses Amy Hyde, Muriel l'ringle, ..Tingey, Gill, Agnes Marshall, and Lottie Cannichael,' and Messrs. Stanley Ranken and Sidney Bush. The tramways benefit social gathering „ held at the Town Hall last night was a great success. There was a large attendance, and the affair passed off in a most pleasant manner. .Mr. G. Mawson was the, caterer.
