TO-DAY'S PARLIAMENT.

LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. The Council met at 2.30 p.m. Tho Attorney-General gave notice of the introduction of tho Arbitration Act Amendment Bill, Municipal Corporations Act Amendment Bill, and tbo Motor Regulation Bill. Tho lion. R. H. J. Reeves gave notice of the introduction of a measure entitled the Regulation of Bellamy's Bill. (Left sitting. ) HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. Tho House met at 2.30 o'clock. Petitions and notices of motion were received. Mr. Barber asked tho Minister of Customs whether, in view of tho fact that it had been ncccssarv to import during the past two years 8000 tons of potatoes, on wliich ovor £10,000 duty bad been paid, ho will reconsider tho reply previously given, and promote legislation to prevent tho continuation of such a heavy tax on an important necessary of life. Mr. Laurcnson's Divorce Bill was again read a first time. The appointment of Messrs. Wood and Flatma.n as ■deputy-chairmen was carried by 44 to 23. (Left sitting.) Tho business of the House this evening will bo further consideration of the Estimates in Committee of Supply.
