A QUESTION OF BRANDS. HOTELKEEPER BEFORE COURT. A hotelkeeper named Margaret Blyth, licensee of the Royal Tiger Hotel, was charged before Mr. Uiddell, S.M., today, with having in her possession certain bottles with labels affixed thereon, and without destroying ouch labels did use such labels for tho purposo of bottling liquor for sale ; also M'ltn having applied a fal&s trade, description to two bottles of whisky sold •to -Michael Greene and Wm. 1 James Simpson. ' Mr. Myelrti'"' r appeared for the police, and Mr. J.'P: .Campbell, with 'Mr. Blair, for the defence^ In opening the caee, j Mr. Myers said If; had apparently bepomo a practice f orVh'otelkcopers - to, open bottles of whisky,. iind_ when they became empty to, fill them with case whisky of another Brand. ' ,It wits to ascertain whether" this 1 practice was or was not contrary to law that the present case and Kvo others being brought ; in other words,' whether a man going into a hotel and asking for a certain brand of caeo wljisky was entitled to be supplied witli' thiii."
