AMERICA AT WORK.
Edison's Popular Pictures, represent- ' ing America at -Work, should prove a special attraction duiing the commg season throughout the eolonbs. The management has shown much initiative and great enterprise in preparing ihe entertainment for the colonies, having; not only imported pictures taken in Amen- ' ca, but having brought over machinery i and men and materials to adequately place their pictures before the public Most good resolutions consist largely i-f plans and specifications, but in "America at Work"' there is real achievement. There will be shown the things that count in the land where things are done. | The serious in life will be relieved by the diversions of pleasure seekers ; the sensational will be rivalled by the strange and unique; the practical will give place to the pranks of 'the practical joker. And there will also be musical matters, with vocalisations by Mr. Avalon Collard, and orchestral selections led by Miss Olive Merton. Nor \ must it be forgotten that there are a ' series of pictures depicting San Francisco before and after the recent earthquake.
