The Shaw-Sa\ill liner lonic arrived in the stream at 8.20 this morning, tuid was berthed at No. 1 south, Queen's Wharf, soon after 11 o'clock. The vessel left Plymouth on the 21st October, and experienced strong N.E. winda and moderate northerly gale and high sea when crossing the Bay of Biscay. Tenerifte was made on the 26th October, and the voyage was continued the eajne day. The equator was crossed ■on the 2nd November, and Capetown reached on the HUT November. The voyage was resumed 'same day, and Hobart was made on the Ist December. Taken right .through some very heavy and cold weather was encountered by the vessel, but altogether the trip was an enjoyable one, concerto, fancy dress halls, and all sorts of deck sports being entered into with enthusiusni by the passengers. The Union Company's steamer Moeraki arrived in the stream at, 10.10 this morning and was berthed at No. 1 north. Queen's Wharf, after being passed by the Health and Customs ofllcers. The vessel left Sydney at 4.<:1 p.m. on Saturday, and experienced moderate southerly winds until the 4th, thence moderate northerly winds and sea with dull foggy weather until arrival. The cargo for Wellington inoludes 1330 cases fruit and transhipments ex Oruba, Elemsberg.. Cintra, Gabo Barnarossa, Scharnhorefc, Taiyuan, Arawatta!' Empire, and Macedonia., Captain S. Holford, who has been on a holiday visit to Sydney, arrived back in We.'lmgton by (he Moeraki. The departure of the Corinni for the South has been postp .ned until to-morrow. Captiiti R. 0. Hammciid, Jate master of the Squall, has been appointed to a shore position in the Northern Company, and Captain Dunn, mate of the vessel,' is' now in comrajiid.
