Eight hundred wives of unemployed in London assembled on the Thames EmIbankment, and sent a deputation to Mr. Balfour and Sir Henry Campb-ill-Banuer- j. man, urging that the Unemployed Bill be j passed. j Both leaders were sympathetic, and I promised to do their utmost to facilitate i the passage of the measure, Mr. Balfcur undertaking to modify the Bill, in the. hope of rendering it non-contentious.
