LABOUR DEPARTMENT METHOD'S.

4 TO THE EDITOR. Sir — As a small employer of labour al-' low me to protest against the action of the Labour Department in publishing particulars regarding a man's business. \Ve are all obliged to render the most minute information regarding our affairs, and if the Department puts its spectacles on and reads the Act, it will find a penalty attached for breach of confidence. Of course, the Mini&ter of Labour will find a way out of such a trifling matter. Next time the Department has to rush round and explain how useful it is to the country, it should do so without divulging information which is supplied in the strictest confidence. — 1 am, etc., NIHILIST. 20th November, 1904.
