« . In the senior Wednesday competition, Tradesmen beat Union by nine wickets. When play started, Union had made 116, and Tradesmen had an uncompleted innings of 171 for four wickets. The remaining wickets did not edd much, and the innings closed for 196 (Claridge 13), the principal distinguishing factor being Richardson, who took five wickets for 11. Union's second innings realised only three more runs than the first — 119, the principal scorers being Quee 41, T. O'Sullivan 26, Richardson 16. The most successful bowlers for Tradesmen were Taylor (four for 9) and Brice (three for 28). Tradesmen lost one wicket in reaching Union's total. The nofrout men were Taylor 20 and Niven 19. The junior match, Union- A v. Artillery, was won by Union by 55 runs. Union's second innings realised. 120 against Artillery's 70, and Union also had a lead of five on the first innings. The principal batsmen for Union were Williamson 39, Paterson 21, Henshilwood 21; for Artillery, A. Mailer 16 (not out), Klee 11. The most successful Union bowler was Yon Rotter, who took seven pickets, for 27 in good style. A. Maher and Milroy, for Artillery, divided tha wickets, the former at a cost of 28 runs, the latter 48. Times v. Drapers (juniors) was won by The Times by an innings and 23 runs.
