MOVEMENTS OF THE FLEET.

HEADED FOR CHERBOURG. LONDON, 25th October. After passing Dover the Baltic fleet headed fof Cherbourg, on the coast of France, in several divisions. It is believed that Admiral -Rozhdestvensky was to open his secret .sailing orders when off that port. Only a few of the destroyers entered Cherbourg. DAMAGE TO THE ESPERENZA. LONDON, 25th October. When the Esperenza (late Maori King, purchased and re-chnstened for addition to the Baltic fleet) was about to sail from Barry to day it was discovered that she was in a sinking condition, her hull having been pierced below the water-line. Workmen are suspected of having caus-

ed this damage, being impelled by sympathy for the fishermen on the trawlers. (Received October 26, 9.15 a.m.) The damage te the Esperenza was due to the unfamiliarity of the French crew in leaving tlie seacock open.
