INVERCARGILL, This Day. Barratt, whose wife and child perished in the fire which destroyed his home this morning at \Voodlands, was a recent arrival from Canterbury. He was severely scorched in attempting to rescue his wife, whose room was like a furnace when he tried to enter it. He is in the hospital. The origin of the fire is unknown.
