ARRIVAL OF THE NAVUA.

The Kavua, the latest addition to the Union Company's New Zealand fleet, arrived from Fiji and Auokland yesterday afternoon on her maiden trip to Wellington. The fine looking vessel has attracted considerable attention during the day. The steamer left Suva on the 14th inst., and arrived at Auckland on the 18th. She left the Northern port for Wellington on the 19th, tnd arrived here at 4.45 yesterday afternoon. She experienced strong southerly winds with considerable sea for two days after leaving Suva, thence light and moderate wind and sea to arrival at Auckland. Strong S.W. winds prevailed to Cape Turnagain, when a strong N.W. breeze was encountered, and lasted until arrival. Tha cargo for Wellington consists of 4891 cases bananas, 1588 bunchei bananas, 347 cases ■pines, and 18 sacks coconuts. The Navua \t to sail for Westport this afternoon. A private letter received in Westport states that the collier Meicedes is not expected 4o leave Hongkong for Westport until December. The New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Papanul, which left Wellington for London on the 29th September, arrived at Monte Video on Thursday last. It has been decided to keep the ShawSavill steamer Athenio at Wellington until Saturday next, when she will sail for Lyttelton instead of making a trip north. She will return to Wellington to complete loading after visiting the Southern port. The vessel was brought in from the stream thw morning to load cargo at the Glasgow Wharf. The fteamer Burgermeiater Hitekmann ia to leave Auckland to-day, and should reach Wellington'on Monday night. The vessel- has 1800 ton* of cargo to land here, on the discharge of which she is to continue her voyage to Lyttelton and Dunedin. The Poherua is to sail from Lyttelton for Wellington at 4 o'olock this afternoon. The Union Company's collier Rakanoa was nnable to get away from Westport last night, but it is hoped to despatch her for Wellington at 9 to-night. The Penguin will make the run to Lyttelton next Saturday in place of the Takapuaa, in order to allow the latter vessel to Pick up the running for Mie daily service between New Plymouth and Onehunga. The Tak*puna will in future leave Wellington on Sunday for Nelson, New Plymouth, and OneIwnga, and the Rotoiti will b« the midweek boat for Sew Plymouth and Onehunga. The Tyier line steamer Marere, from London, left Auokland for Napier this morning. Sho ia expected to reach Wellington on Thursday next. The Tyser steamer Mimiro, whioh sailed for Lyttetton and Dunedin to-day, i» to call at th» Bluff after discharging at Port Chalmers, tnd is then to return to Wellington. From this port she will go to Napier and Gisbome. Wellington will probably be the' final porfc for fha> colony.
