[BY TELEGRAPH— PRESS ASSOCIATION.] HASTINGS, This Day. Steady rain fell for the opening of the Hawkes Bay Show to-day. There is a record number of entries. The Shorthorn class is a feature of the show. The prize for champion bull was awarded to Archdeacon Williams's exhibit, and that for champion heifer to the Mount Herbert Estate. The prize-winners in Border Leicester sheep were : — Champion ewe, Hon. J. D. Ortnond ; ram, Nelson Bros.
