HUTT TRAINING NOTES.
A drizzling rain and a heayy mist made ' the going holding on the Hutt tracks this morning. Most of the work waa done on the grass outside the course proper. Gold Dredge solus covered four furlongs in 55sec, and Hukaaka, Amelia (associated), and Promotion left a similar distance behind in a trifle under the 55 sec. Coxswain finished in front of Pure Silver at the end of half a mile. Cyrus and Shrapnel Shell were sent once rounds covering the last seven furlongs in lmin, 37sec, Shrapnel Shell finishing in front. Joe Chamberlain had the best of Laertes „ over half a mile, in 52sec. Solution and_ Unawaires together ran the same distance in 53sec, the former being .ridden out. . Ghoorka, looking fit, went once round at a good sound gallop. Boris, with a light weight up, slipped over four furlongs in 51 l-ssec. Armistice ran a mile, the last sevßn furlongs occupying lmin 39 2-ss.ee. At the conclusion of the journey, Armistice bolted with her rider, aaid traversed about four miles before she was , pulled, . ' n up. Melodeon ran six furlongs in good ' style. Convoy, Mahutonga, and Terce-^ let. were sent over a mile together,, the ' last seven furlongs occupying lmin 36sec. - Convoy had the best of the encounter, Tercelet being rather badly beaten, Pall Cry, ridden by G. Price, started from toe seven furlongs mark, and picked up Rotoairo and another, the whole journey taking lmin 35$ sec. Tupono, Multifid, and. Kaiuku were extended over two furlongs in 25 3-s&ec, finishing jjTthe .order named. .... Bounce, Starshoot,. King- Billy, Boomerang, Chivalry, and several others also put in good serviceable work.
