SPORTING. WELLINGTON RACING CLUB. TO-MORROW'S MEETING.
That all-important factor, fine weather, is the only essential required to ensure a successful day's racing at the Hutt tomorrow. At the time of writing the elements are in a somewhat uncertain " mood. The heavy northerly wind blowing last night was accompanied by a, drizzling rain, which, however, did not fall in sufficient quantity to materwlljr affect the condition of the course, and the wind has now moderated. The various events to be decided to-morrow have' attracted good fields, and the racing should be interesting, especially as a number of New Zealand Cup candidates will be seen out. Complete arrangements " have been made for tho conveyance of visitors to the course. Special trains will be run at intervals to the Lower Hutt, and 'buses will run thence to the racecourse. A large number of vehicles has been engaged for the purpose, and little or no inconvenience is expected. The fkst race will be run at 12 o'clock. The different events may result as follows :—: — October Hurdles. — Ki'llarney, Westguard, and Defoe. Shorts Handicap. — Solution, Matuku, ana Ballarat. Wellington Handicap. — Mahutonga, Full Cry, and Shrapnel Shell. Riinutaka Hack. — St. Winifred, Jo© • Chamberlain, and Ngatarua. Wainui Handicap. — Regulation, Kaharoa, and Wind.
