GOVERNMENT HOUSE FETE. Owing to the extreme inclemency of the weather, it has been decided to postpone the opening of the Veterans' Home Garden Fete in Government House grounds until next Saturday afternoon. Everything has been prepared for the fete, fine weather only is awaited. It is intended to continue the Fete next Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. This evening and to-morrow night there are to be amateur theatrical productions by the Vice-regal Dramatic Company, in aid of the Veterans' Home funds. The stage manager will be Lord Plunket, and the ballroom in Government House has been transformed into a cosy little theatre for the occasion. The first part of the programme consists of a farcical comedietta, "Which is Which?" The characters are to be taken by Misses Eva and Morna Fell and Moya Fitzgerald, and Drs. Mason and Pu.rdy. A farce, entitled "Old Goosebery," is to follow, tho parts in which will be taken by the Hon. Kathleen Plunket (Matty), Miss E. WiHlams (Laura Corker), the Hon. M. Bingham, A.D.C., and Mr. H. C. Wateffield, Private Secretary. The performance is to commence at 8 o clock.
