CRICKET.
. . . — o The report to be presented at the tenth annual meeting of the Junior Cricket Association on Friday next congratulates its members on having had a very successful season from start to finish. The Albion Club again secured the championship, thereby annexing the cup, the Railway Club being runnersup. R. Wood (Albion) heads the bowling average with the fine performance of 77 wickets at a cost of 3.69 per wicket. W. Roberts (Railway) was the leading batsman, his figures being 8 innings, 266 runs, average 33.25. Both players receive trophies, presented by Mr. A. Hoby, President. The trophy presented by Mr. R. Howe, of Wanganui, for the best bowling performance, was won by H. Collett (Woollen Co.), who obtained five wickets for one run against the Railway eleven. The report shows the Association to be on the right side of the ledger financially, and it looks forward to a successful season. Fourteen teams will take part in this- Association's competition during the coming season. The number would be larger but for the shortage of recreation grounds. The City Council has again allowed the use of Newtown Park, without w Inch the Association would have to abandon its work.
