CAPTAIN LODGES A PROTEST.
LONDON, 24th August. The captain of the British steamer Comedian, which was stoppod near Durban for the examination of her papers by a cruiser believed to be the Smolensk, has lodgod a protest. An impression prevails that the Smolensk ..was searching for tho steamer Ormloy, bound from Now York to Fusan (Southern Korea) with & cargo of railway material. The Ormley lelp Durban on Sunday. Newspapers of all shades of opinion make severe comments on the Comedian case.
