Mr. Goodnow, the United States Consul, slates that the American Government does not intend to interfere. Though the American destroyer Cbauncoy was cleared for Action on entering Shanghai, Admiral Stirling now asserts that she was only carrying despatches, and had no connection with the arrival of the Japanese destroyers.
