EMPLOYERS' ASSOCIATION.
ANNUAL MEETING. Seventeen members of the Wellington Employers' Association attended the annual mwling, which was held In at evening in tho Association's Rooms, Empire Buildings, Willis-sticet. The President, Mr. William Cable, was in iho chair. Apologies ui'i'e received for the ah.scnce of McMirs. Veitch, Inniss, and Scott. Tho niuuiul report, the main features of which have already been published, showed that tho .nembcrsliip of the Association was 252, against 131 last year, and 65 the year before. Thoso who had entered inlo a guarantee in connection with tho cost of engaging the Organising jSccretary (Mr. Ilenry Fic'.d) had not been drawn upon for a penny. • " The President moved, and Mr. Hutchon seconded, the adoption of tho report. - Mr. W. O. Tustin eomplimcnted the Secretary on the great uicreaso in tho Association's membership, and its marked progress during tho lnst twelve months. Tho guarantors had certainly expected that they would havo to put their hands in their* pockets. The results achieved woro eminently satisfactory. Tho report was adopted. Tho following officers wero elected for the ensuing year : — President, Mr William Coble- ' (re-elected); Vice - Presidents, Messrs. T Ballinger and 11. Holroyd, D. \V. Anderson, G. E. Godber, Thos. Bush, A. Petherick, T. J. Thomson, Thos. Wardell, G. Luke, W. H, Bennett; Auditor, Mr. W. C. Stephens. Votes of thanks wt?re passed to the President, Vice-Presidents, Executive, and Secretary, and to the Au 'ilor. Tho President expressed h,ts thanks for his re-elec-tion, and for tho vote to tho officers generally. A vote of condolence with Mr. Goo. T. Booth (President of the New Zealand Employers' Federation), in tho sudden death of his brother-in-law (Mr. Winter Hall), near Picton, . was passed on the President's motion. Mr. Tußlin gave notice to movo that tho quorum at a general meeting bo' reduced to ten insload of fifteen.
