Old Boys v. Newtown. — Concluded on the Basin Reserve, and won by Newtown by an innings and 84 runs. For the winners Vickery made 63 runs, and HawI thorne took 4 wickets for 10. Wellington v. Midland.— At present this ga^ne stands — Wellington, first innings, 143 (Crombie 38, Johnson 26,
Pery 21, Maunsell 16, Ashbolt 14) ; Midland, second innings, 87 (Moss 31, Staples 13) ; Wellington, second innings, 4 wickets down for 22, and must make 67 runs to win. Phoenix V. College. — Former won by 10 wickets. For the losers Macintosh took 6 wickets for 28 luns. THIRD-CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP. Although the committee decided to play no third-class matches, the Wel-lington-College teams commenced their fixture on the College ground. Former scored 139 (Hanify 33, Nash 30, Barclay 21, Adams 15 not out, Ca&ey 11) ; College 72 (Male 30 not out). Hanify, for Wellington, took 5 wickets for 35.
