A heavy shower fell shortly" before noon, and. somewhat affected tie attendance, and one or two light showers fell in the afternoon, though not sufficient to interfere with the comfort of those on the ground. The attendance" numbered about twenty thousand persons, the Premier being among those present. Great interest was taken in the parade of stock and the jumping competitions. Light horses were judged during the day. The entries were more numerous than last year, but 'the quality was scarcely so good, and none of the entries possessed conspicuous merit.
