Campbell, who was recently sentenced in connection with railway frauds, and who for the past eight months had lain ou a couch alleging that he was suffering from paralysis, as the result of falling from a train, has suddenly found his legs. Eight doctors examined Campbell, of whom four declared 1 that he was paralysed. The Government medical officer had doubts, and gave him till Sunday to attempt to walk,' and said-he would then apply electrical tests. Yesterday, Campbell was found sitting up. He declared that he had been long enough in bed, and got out. He confessed that he never fell from a train, and was , not paralysed, and added that the electrical tests- were the greatest punishment he ever suffered, and he wauted no more. f John Richard Campbell claimed £10,000 damages from tho Queensland Railway Commissioner, alleging that he 'was paralysed through falling from a train through the railway servants' neg- i ligence. As it was discovered that he was identical with a man who had perpetrated a similar fraud in New South j Wales, he was tried and convicted for perjury. Henderson, an accomplice, who had disappeared bub was subsequently arrested in New South Wales, was a day I or two ago sentenced to seven years' imprisonment.]
