[BT TEtEGKAPH — PEESS ASSOCIATION.] CARTERTON, This Day. A man named James Sweeney was found unconscious yesterday afternoon in the Royal Oak Hotel yard, and died last evening. Alcoholic poisoning is supposed to be the cause. At the inquest on the body of young Fred Freeman, held at Wanganui on Tuesday, the jury returned a verdict to the effect that deceased was accidentally drowned. They added a rider commending the efforts of the crew to save him.
