THE RICKARDS VAUDEVILLE COMPANY.
Before the curtain was rung up at the Theatre Royal last night every seat had been tilled and even standing-room was at a premium, while the applause that followed every effort of Mr. Rickarde's entertainers proved that a good variety company need never fear a cold welcome in Wellington. Dereoda and Breen must be seen at work with the Indian elate to be believed ; even then the. ey« ib frequently unable to follow the jugglery. The musical Jackson family showed their talent on a. dozen different instruments ; J. W. Winton and his privileged friend M'Ginty busied themselves providing humour ; Misses Neva Carr-Glynn. and Jennie Opie were recalled for their singing ; and Fagan and Byron and the Clarence sisters 'gave- plenteous proof of their quality. Last, but not least, there is a bioscope, and it develops its films without even threatening to flicker. Tonight the performance will be repeated.
