ENTERTAINMENTS, ETC. KELLY AND ASHBY VAUDEVILLE COMPANY.
* The variety entertainment provided by the Kelly and Ashby Vaudeville Company at the Opera House last evening attracted a large audieuce. One of the best turns on the programme whs the billiardtable act by Messrs Kelly and Ashby, which is truly a very fine piece of acrobatic work, well supported with humour, and called forth unstinted applause. The sketch "Scenes in Chinatown," given by Messrs Morris and Wilson, created a great deal of amusement. The illustrated songs contributed by Mr. Percy James w-ere popular items, and the manaer in which Cuuning manipulated cards, coin, and various other articles was, to say the leaat of it, clever. Missps Dorothy Roberts, Beryl Oilman, and Anna Heldmoa were all well received. The farce, "Over the Garden Wall," concluded the entertainment, and sent patrons out into the niglic with well-pleased faces. A matinee performance will be given on Saturday afternoon.
