FIRES NEAR DUNEDIN.
IBY TELBOBAI'n — I'IIKSS ASSOCIATION.) DUNEDIN, This Day. A fire broke out at Pinehill, Dunedin, at 5 o'clock this morning, on a farm belonging to Messrs W. and J. Woods. All the outhouses, several animals, and much btock were destroyed. The damage is estimated at £500. The premises were insured in the New Zealand Ouice for £200 and in the National for £250. Early this morning a fire broke out in the shop of Mr. Craig, tobacconist, in ■George-street, Port Chahncis. Two buildings caught alight. Mr. Craig's stock was consumed, 'and his fixtures damaged. The stock and fixtures of Mr. J. S. Campbell, fruiterer, were considerably damaged, as well as tho stock of Mr. Pago. The. buildings, which we're owned by Mr. W. Anderson, of Dunedin, wero insuied in tho New Zealand Office, but tho amount is at present unknown. Mr. Geddes, a jeweller on the premises, has a £30 policy, and Mr. Craig iioO, both in tho New Zealand Office. Campbell has a £200 policy in the United Insurance office.
