DOINGS OF THE SEVENTH.

Colonel Porter, commanding • the Seventh New Zealand Regiment, has cabled as follows to the. Premier, uncjer dato 7th inst: — "Ruport for March — Operating agnin on drive in Orange River Colony. Last drive much impeded by bad •weather and flooded rivers, with hardships and short rations. Little fighting. Following are the captures: — Prisoners 146, rifles 9, ammunition 300, cattle 700, sheep 250, mules 30, horses 300, wagons and Cape carts (destroyed). Recruiting drafts marched on the 30th and faced the enemy in trenches in a night attack, 11 p.m. They behaved well. There were no casualties during the month. The regiment is well but requires rest."
