The correspondent of the Daily Telegraph, at Washington states that Russia, hoping to control Korea, urges Japto to negotiate for possession Df the Philippines instead of the coveted peninsula. THE COURT'S RETURN TO PEKIK INDEMNITY TO MISSIONARIES .AND CONVERTS. (Received December 3, 9.11 a.m.) LONDON, 2nd December. Advices from Pekin state that the Chinese Court has postponed the last stage of its journey to Pekin owing to the Em-press-Dowager being in ill-health. The Chinese local officials have agreed to give five million taels (rather over £700,000) as indemnity to the missionaries and outraged native Christians not included in the general indemnity.
