GENERAL BULLER.

THE; HYDE PARK MEETING. I.PB.BSS ASSOCIATIONS LONDON, 2nd December. A meeting of 20,000 persons in Hyde Park on Sunday adopted the resolution declaring that Sir Redvers Buller's speed at the Volunteer luncheon on 10th October was used by the War Office as a mere excuse for the General's dismissal, which was really due to his refusal to alter the Spionkop despatches. A constable broke a gilt effigy of Buller which the processionists were carrying, and a disturbance was narrowly averted. The gathering consisted mostly of workers. A small minority raised shouts against Lord Roberts and Mr. Chamberlain. General Buller's dignified reticence is interpreted as a rebuke to the demonstrators.
