The body of the man found in the water near Clivo on Wednesday has been identified as that 6f John Prior, who had been working for a contractor in the district. The deceased was a man of weak intellect, and ' had been roaming about the country for the last few weeks. It is not known whether he bad any relatives in the colony. This Day. At tne inquest on the body of John Prior, the jury fonnd that deceased was> accidentally drowned while* endeavouring to crtrts the Waitangi Hirer. MASTERTON, This Day. An old resident of Masterton, named John Ellery, aged 60, committed suicide yeatordnv afternoon by taking prussic acid. For a number of years deceased carried on a butchery business.
