Lieut.-General Sir Bindon Blood tried to Burprise General Botha and the members of the Boer Government at their hiding-place at Carolina, in the northeast Transvaal. Botha, with a hundred men and two guns, escaped, abandoning many wagons and cattle. He, with a small following, is always moving, merely joining the commandos when, he meets them.
