HOCKEY.

. o SATURDAY'S MATCHES. Wellington First played United First at Miramar on Saturday, and was defeated by four to nil. The Wellington team was minus the services of three of its best men, whose places were filled by juniors. Practically the whites never had a chance, United pressing them all through the game, and only indifferent shooting accounts for the small score. Hickson secured all four goals. Mr. Francis was referee. Tho second teams of the United and Wellington clubs met at Island Bay. The United won by 5 goals to love, and thus carried off the Junior Championship. Luckie obtained three goals, and Cooke and Pavitt each scored a goal.

At the adjourned meeting of John Reed's creditors this afternoon, the Official Assignee agreed to accept an offer by Mr. P. B. Farmar of £80 for the whole of the assets. Mr. Farmar was allowed until Saturday to consult parties whom he represented as to whether he should definitely close ut that figure.
