MILITARY OPERATIONS.
LONDON, 24th September. At the battle of Pei-tsang the allies lost thirty killed. A Reuter despatch ifrom Washington states that the United States is reducing its contingent at Pekin to a strong Legation guard, but Admiral Remey will have at his command five armoured vessels, two protected cruisers and a number of gunboats of various classes.
