Iv connection with the Grafton murder, in which a young man named Murphy has confessed to murdering his mate (M'Donald) in consequence of a quarrel concerning some stolen melons, the jury has returned a verdict of wilful murder against Murphy. MELBOURNE, 21st February. A man named William Jones has been sentenced to death for the outrage and murder of an eight-year-old girl named Rita Jones at Broadford.
