« "A TRIP TO CHINATOWN." "A Trip to Chinatown" was enjoyed by another largo audience as personally conducted at the Opera House on Saturday night by the Hoyt and M'Kee company. The excursion into the realm of the farcical was accompanied throughout by peak of laughter aud much applause. The fine acting of Mr. H. J. Ward (Ben Gay) during his engagement with the heated freestone, and Mr. Harry Conor's excellent fooling throughout and especially during the singing by Miss Viola Gillette of the fine ballad "Because I Love You" were particularly appreciated. Showers of coin from all parts of the house accompanied Mr. Wallace Browmlow's singing of "Tbe Absent-minded Beggar." The dancing of the M'Coy sisters, Miss Edith Hoyt, and Mr. Sam xdaridn won repeated encores, and for his fine whistling and sound-imitations Mr. Tom Brown© was recalled again and again. iUiss Marie Adams and Mr. Ai*thur Pacie's contributions to the entertainment were also heartily acknowledged "A Trip to Chinatown" goes on again ; this evening, and, unlike Mr. Conor's experience in the Boweiy, playgoers will go there again. Very complete preparations are being made for the visit of the Contingent to the Opera House to-morrow night. His Excellency the Governor and members of the Ministry will be present. After the singing of the National Anthem upon the arrival of His Excellency there will be a military tableau in which a number of local volunteers will take part. The Kinematograph exhibition at the Criterion Theatre drew another large audience on Saturday night. The season will not terminate for some time yet. One of the best > programmes yet submitted by the Vaudeville Company attached to Messrs. John Fullei and Sons' Waxwork Exhibition was that presented with Saturday night's change The Choral Hall was as usual largely attended, and the popularity of the variety artiste is as great as ever
