SPREAD OF THE PLAGUE.

TWO SUPPOSED CASES AT ADELAIDE. [press association.] ADELAIDE, 14th January. A sailor has died here suddenly from what the doctors believe to be bubonic plague. A second man has been discovered suffering similarly, and has been removed to thi hospital. No details of the cases are yet available. NO DOUBT AS TO THE NATURE OF THE DISEASE. (Received January 15,9.26 a.m.) ADELAIDE, This Day. Leading doctors of the city are satisfied that the complaint of the man who has died was one of bubonic plague. The Hospital has been placed under strict quarantine. The victim, wjiose name was Appslein, arrived from New York iv November last, aud deserted from his ship. During the voyage a number of the crew 3uffered from stomach troubles, but they were not regarded as serious. A boy named M'Canu, who contracted the disease from Appstein, is now in the Hospital. Efforts are being made to trace the origin of the disease.
